Panic & Anxiety Attacks

By using hypnotherapy, you will be able to replace your body’s response to seemingly frightening situations.

You will be able to relax when you are in the middle of a panic attack. Stop the thoughts that produced the attack and replace the catastrophic thoughts with positive coping statements and allow yourself to feel and accept all the physical sensations that accompany the attack.

You will hopefully no longer have to avoid situations, people or things that trigger your anxiety, such as driving on a motorway, eating in public, crowds or flying in an aeroplane, as you will be able to cope and control your feelings of fear, you can go wherever you want to go and do what ever you want to do, which up until now you have not been able to do.

Panic and Anxiety can be triggered by a number of different situation situations or events, such as:

  • going in lifts
  • travelling on the underground,
  • general anxiousness
  • Presentations
  • Weddings
  • Performing arts
  • driving
  • relationships with loved ones

Hypnotherapy has proven effective when dealing with anxiety, stress and panic attacks, helping you cope with specific symptoms using the power of suggestion, while helping you overcome limiting beliefs.

In some cases an intense feeling and the associated symptoms can occur for seemingly no reason. This is known as a panic attack which can be quite frightening. For some who have a panic disorder however, it is a common occurrence.

Hypnotherapy can be very useful when managing a panic disorder, this is because it can teach you relaxation techniques you can practice on a daily basis, helping you to reduce your general anxiety.

Hypnotherapy can also be used to overcome negative thinking and boost self-esteem. Having low self-esteem and thinking negatively may well be contributing to your panic attacks, so addressing this behaviour can be very helpful.

What is Hypnotherapy?

It is not what you see on stage shows….but that it is a completely natural phenomenon which is drug free and non- addictive. It is a state which is self-induced assisted by the directions of the hypnotherapist. While in a state of hypnosis you are neither asleep nor unconscious, and you are fully aware of what is happening. The technique is a way of getting through to the subconscious mind and re-programming it. The subconscious mind influences our everyday experiences and a lot of memories, good and bad are stored there, even though we are not aware of these memories, which in turn, can affect our everyday lives, even though we are not aware that the subconscious is controlling us. Most sessions are carried out weekly over a four to six week period for the best results. Except quit smoking, this is usually a one off session, lasting a couple of hours.
